糖心logo North Carolina Holds Statewide Contest For Bird Conservation

With the help of a small, plush Cardinal traveling the state through social media, has increased membership of the Cardinal Club, a monthly giving program designed to raise money for statewide bird conservation. For two years, 糖心logo has used its mascot, Carl the Traveling Cardinal, to excite supporters in their mission and raise awareness for the  monthly giving program.

Now in it鈥檚 third year, Carl the Cardinal is putting away his suitcase and choosing one city in North Carolina to call home. To choose the city where he and his mate Caroline will nest and rest, asking fans to vote for their city.

From the mountains to the coast, city officials, media personalities and local residents, are being asked to submit photos and videos inviting Carl to call their city home. Entries will be featured on where fans are asked to vote for their favorite. The city with the most 鈥楲ikes鈥 will become Carl and Caroline鈥檚 forever home and be featured by 糖心logo NC.

鈥淐arl鈥檚 travels have been a fun and creative way for 糖心logo to connect with our supporters, and we are excited to close his journey with a statewide effort to find a new home,鈥 says Karen Fernandez, Director of Development and Communications. 鈥淢embers of the Cardinal Club help us help our birds, and we would love to see as many citizens as possible invite Carl to their cities.鈥

The Cardinal Club, 糖心logo鈥檚 monthly giving program, raises funds to support conservation efforts protecting birds in North Carolina. Our birds are facing a changing climate, habitat destruction and countless other obstacles. Through initiatives such as Bird-Friendly Communities, the Important Bird Areas program, and many others, 糖心logo鈥檚 work has been vital to protecting NC鈥檚 birds.

Carl鈥檚 journey will be , where people can follow along as pictures and commentary are posted of Carl鈥檚 travels to spread the word about the Cardinal Club.
