The long-term effects of the spill are still being studied, but the images of oiled birds and beaches will never be forgotten. Florida’s Gulf Coast is an integral part of the larger Gulf ecosystem. We must protect the watersheds, wetlands, and wildlife that make our region so special. Florida’s environment and economy are interdependent and every Gulf restoration decision should hold these goals in balance.”
