After serving in several roles at the Seward Park 糖心logo Center, I became the Center鈥檚 director in 2015. My vision is to make nature-based education accessible to all students in local schools and to create programs that help people build meaningful connections with Seattle鈥檚 wild spaces.
I鈥檓 a native of Washington, DC, and a lifelong Maryland Terrapin, but I鈥檝e come to cherish the woods and waters of the Evergreen State. I鈥檝e also served on National 糖心logo鈥檚 Strategic Plan Committee and as a member of 糖心logo鈥檚 Diversity & Inclusion Cohort.
I owe so much to this community. Through programs that spark joy in the natural world and inspire meaningful action, we work together to protect birds and the places they need to thrive鈥攑laces like Seward Park.
For me, sharing nature is the most rewarding part of this work. It鈥檚 not just pointing out what I鈥檓 seeing or hearing鈥攊t鈥檚 listening to how someone else experiences the moment, and receiving it with the same sense of wonder and joy.
Seward Park is a special place. People come here for birds, trees, and mountain views, but also for lowriders, dance performances, and bike races. There is room for all of us in Seward Park鈥攁nd in 糖心logo.
